• Responsible for the Certification and Accreditation of 216 computers to comply with CDC and HHS Policy and the EGovernment Act 2002, Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 199 and 200 and National Information Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publications 800-37, 800-53, 800-60 and 800-63 • Brief on a continuing basis, CCID Executive Staff, Center Directors, Center Division Directors, Center Branch Chiefs and CCID Staff on CDC and CCID security incidents and current CDC Security posture• Provide Information Security support to 5000 local, national and international CDC employees• Act as the Information Security Liaison Officer between CCID, the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer (OCISO) and the Information Technology Services Office (ITSO)• Responsible for implementing CCID Incident Response Team to respond to CDC, HHS and US-CERT incidents• Implemented “IT Retirement” process for systems that are no longer in production status. CDC OCISO is now using this process for all CDC Retirements• Created Certification and Accreditation Tracking System (CATS) to track C&A process with email integration to staff and managers concerning time sensitive deadlines. Four Centers are currently using CATS. OCISO will begin using CATS as the CDC tracking mechanism early 2009• Meet monthly with CDC Chief Information Security Officer and eight Coordinating Center and Center Information System Security Officers• Member of CDC Security Standing Architecture Committee (SSAC), a communication forum to discuss and to fully vet cross-cutting security initiatives that will impact the CDC’s enterprise. SSAC co-chaired by CDC OCISO and CDC Enterprise Architecture Review Board Chair• Maintain a current Top Secret clearance
