Primary Responsibilities:The Support Specialist will be primarily responsible for supporting the Officers of the Loan Programs Office(LPO) of the United States Department of Energy (DOE). This will include the following major tasks:• Research and collect data for corporate credit ratings, energy industry data, bond issuances and loanportfolio statistics using in-house databases, Bloomberg Professional, and the Internet;• Assist with special projects (such as data entry in risk rating reports and financial models) that mayinclude design and development of Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, and PowerPoint presentations;• Edit, format, duplicate, and collate presentations, reports, and other documents;• Process requests and make arrangements for approved travel; process expense claims; maintain travel andvacation records for Federal and Contractor staff;• Accept and forward incoming correspondence from private citizens and government agencies to theappropriate LPO officers and other Government Agencies;• Conduct appropriate internal and external research to substantiate responses to correspondence fromprivate citizens and congressional and other government agencies’ personnel;• Provide ongoing drafting, layout, quality control, publication, distribution, and retention services for LPOformal documents and presentations submitted to senior managers, officials, boards, and organizations ofthe DOE, the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of the Federal Government.• Prepare summaries of internet news clips with specific relevance to LPO issues and distribute to SeniorManagement and other stakeholders;• Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; calling for repairsand maintaining equipment and supply inventories;• Support periodic and annual inventory, filing, accounting, and audits of Federal property and equipment;

Includes support for scheduling and travel.-Review and approve expense reports filed by Department directors and time sheets for the Department. -Create marketing books (printing & binding) based on direction from and directors. -Interact with department consultants, as needed, on projects and issues. -Support the portfolio of Business Development/Investor Relations conferences, as needed. -Manage logistics for several group conference calls; includes reserving the conference room, catering as needed and executing room set-up and clean-up.- Maintain department's library of publications. -Maintain department workroom. -Oversee the management of department temporary staff, as directed
