Lead supervisor for the US Department of State Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI) for the nations of Chad and the Ivory Coast in Africa. We train African military contingents to conduct operations as part of United Nation's Peace Keeping Missions. I supervise a multifunctional GPOI instructor team plus the assigned host nation instructors to train up to 1,500 soldiers for their assigned missions. All training is conducted in forward training areas with minimal support and long supply lines.

Responsible for all aspects of law enforcement and security within assigned court houses. Expert in General Security Operations, Personal/VIP protection, Emergency Response, Active Shooter, and Emergency Management.

CSOS Senior Trainer for the U.S. Department of State African Contingency Operations Training Assistance (ACOTA) program. Duties included instruction and mentoring for military personnel from various African Nations on Command and Staff Operations (CSOS), Military Decision Making Process (MDMP), Orders Production, Human rights, Working with NGOs, Demobilization and Disarmament, Orientation to UN Peacekeeping Operations, and other subjects as required by the Statement of Work. Training culminated with a 5 Day CPX designed to test the battalions ability to conduct military/peacekeeping operations in their designated area of operations. Responsible for all aspects of disaster response and homeland security planning. Coauthor of the 2008 New Hampshire Ice Storm Response Report, Responsible for redesigning and upgrading the New Hampshire National Guard Operations Center so that it could better support civilian responders, and was a member of the National Domestic Response Advisory Committee representing the New England States (FEMA Region 1).

Responsible for recruiting new soldiers into the NH National Guard, developing and executing the comprehensive marketing and sales plan, and over seeing every aspect of recruit training until they arrived at their unit of assignment. When I assumed command, NH was ranked 53 of 54th in the nation and was at 78% of required strength. When I left command, we were ranked 6 of 54 national and were at 103% of our required strength.

Manchester, Nh

Second in Command of an U.S. Army Combat Brigade. Responsible for all aspects of operations, logistical sustainment, and readiness. Responsible for the execution of a multi-million dollar budget also with overall management of equipment and real property values in excess of 30 million dollars. Was the Ground forces commander for disaster relief operation in South West New Hampshire in the Autumn of 2005 and again in the Spring of 2006. The Brigade was recognized repeatedly as one of the top performing Brigades in the Army National Guard of the united States.

Kabul, Afgahnistan

Oversaw the combat deployment of an U.S. Army Battalion Embedded Training Team (Combat Advisors) to the Republic of Afghanistan. The team was a diverse group imbedded into and living the Afghan Army unit we supported. Major operations included Shindand Airfield (Aug 2004), Herat (Sep 2004), Afghan election (Oct 2004), Pol-e-charki Prison (Nov 2004), civilian airline recovery (Feb 2005), Asadabad/Ganjigal (May 2005). Bottom line: we achieved excellence in an austere, high risk, and high stress environment.
