Being very popular amongst students, I was elected on the First General Affairs Council of Students Gymkhana of IIT Kanpur as Hostel (Hall 5) Representative in 1969. Earlier I was also Mess Secretary of Hostel 3 for 2 years.After graduating in 1971 in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT Kanpur, I joined Industrial Development Services Pvt. Ltd. (IDS), New Delhi as graduate engineer and rose to the position of Managing Director of the Company by 2000. Being passionate to serve the IIT alumni community without seeking rewards, I have been serving as Honorary Secretary of Alumni Association, IIT-Kanpur, Delhi Chapter for almost last 30 years. Besides alumni get together, we have also arranged many interactive counseling sessions for fresh graduates of IITK Alumni to help them in acclimatizing themselves to the competitive corporate world and to the new social environment. Besides we also arrange few talks by eminent persons on topics of common interest.I have been helping regularly the younger IITK Alumni for their professional growth as well as personal well being. With long experience in preparation of techno economic feasibility studies, project execution, market surveys and consultancy, I could help IIT Alumni for entrepreneurship and career planning.The passion to serve the society prompted me to join Rotary Club in 1979. I served Rotary Clubs at various positions including President of Rotary Club Delhi Rajdhani in 1991-92 and Assistant Governor of District 3010 during 2002-03.In addition I have been actively associated with the Indian Institute of Metals (IIM) as the Honorary Secretary, Chairman and Member of the Executive Committee of its Delhi Chapter. I have actively contributed in organizing International Exhibitions & Conferences on Metallurgy since 1994.
