GREF is Global Reference Database application and it is developed to ensure there is a single acknowledged source for reference information and information is available to whoever needs it. GREF is the identified successor and replacement to the legacy Electronic Services Database. The Right Price Web Application provides Quoting and Issuing capability for Personal Lines Auto, Home and Package policies. The Web based application is separated into three functions Create, Purchase and Submit. An additional feature of Right Price Web is to provide Midterm What-If Analysis capability, which allows the agent to enter scenarios to existing quotes and PLIS policies to receive a full term quote. The user manually pro-rates the quote or policy to give the client a quote summary if needed. ARS is an Internet based system that enables GM to track, approve, plan and dispose of GM surplus assets. This project is part of global online ownership strategy developed by GM that focuses on creating an internet based ownership center to reach out to GM customers and build strong , lasting relationship. This is an enterprise application to provide information and customized services regarding GM vehicles. The intent of GM ‘s ownership effort is to build greater loyalty and evangelism towards GM and its products and services and to enhance the “Post Purchase” experience.• To implement the replacement of ATG personalization content: The existing system had personalized content dynamically displayed on various pages based on the input parameters like country, language, make, model, model, series and year of the vehicle, program etc. This had been done using ATG server and XML files. This has been replaced with java classes and xml-queries (the content had been stored in database) are written to retrieve the data. • Rewriting of the Maintenance Schedule algorithm: The existing application used an algorithm to calculate the maintenance schedule for each vehicle. There was a requirement to change this algorithm to have two additional parameters, the vehicle's registered mileage and registration date. • Performance Improvements - There are various parts of the program which used nested EJB QL and lots of connections to retrieve the necessary data. An alternate solution to this is implemented, wherein, the complex EJB QL are replaced by appropriate queries and reducing the number of database calls.
