CurrentInitiated and led several projects adding high-impact features to the Workday API and Reporting platform. Today Reporting platform serves more than 2 billion executions per month across Workday App visualizations, Integrations and data API.Architect for Workday Query Language (WQL) API with query parser and backend runtime, to deliver result sets REST API with pagination. Started the project from inception and executed with a small team to deliver a successful service. This has provided ad-hoc query capability with SQL like syntax to otherwise fixed reporting functionality and allowed building custom applications and large data extractions. Spearheaded the GraphQL service with the integration of Workday’s Data Sources and Business Objects to consolidate the siloed APIs to one single structure as Workday graph and removed the dependency for developers to create separate API for Reporting, REST and Web Services. Led the design and development of Data Exports service with Async REST API to support large data extractions. This API is used by various internal services and ML data pipelines for accessing historical and analytics data enabling data science and machine learning products in Workday. Developed the enhanced Analytics query engine with Logical Model compiler to run ad hoc queries and data pipelines in Spark. Logical Model adds higher-level abstraction offering metadata resolution and rewriting plans to suit Workday’s reporting requirements, and weaving remote data. Integrated the gRPC based Distributed Operations (DO) framework into Spark plans for linking remote live data with slowly changing data stored in Parquet.
