Current• Set up Kalasa’s audio post-production facilities in Chennai in 1998:- grew the company between 1998 and 2014 in absolute terms:• revenue growths of about 180% between 1998 and 2007• before-tax bottom-lines grew 210% between 2007 and 2014• consistent yearly bottom-line revenue of 25% per year- Successfully worked on audio post production for more than 500 film projects primarily in Tamil and other South Indian languages in 14 years till date- grew the company to 3 facilities as of today, with 25 staff to handle the unprecedented growth that has made Kalasa one of the top 3 audio post-production facilities in Chennai.- Kalasa was Chennai’s first fully-digital audio post-production facility for film.• Launched Kalasa’s Digital Cinema initiative in July 2004:- Successfully raised investments of US$500,000 in 2004 and US$2million in 2009- Implemented Digital Cinema in South India from July, 2004 – a technology innovation providing a digital alternative to traditional 35mm film playback at theaters; set this up with operational partnership with GDC Technology, Singapore and Panasonic, Singapore.- Managing 20 staff with dedicated Film Services, Distribution Services and Theater Services departments, supported by a Technical Services unit to implement a world class digital cinema solution relevant for South India.- Being a green-field project, Kalasa’s Digital Cinema operations become profitable in its 3rd year of operations, instead of the anticipated 5th year.• Currently, Kalasa is a US$5 million company with annual revenues of US$1million staffed by 50 personnel.
