Since age seven I've had my fingers glued to a keyboard. I was always the one that family and peers looked to for advice on technology. Whether someone needed help installing an application, navigating tech bugs, or simply had no idea how to work with their computer, I'd always be intently waiting for my opportunity to jump in and help. I've had a love for computer science and all things tech ever since.Not only did I problem solve technical issues growing up, but I also involved myself in virtual editing and design. Using Canva, Bandicam, and iMovie were all daily occurrences in my elementary years as I ran a Youtube channel with my best friend. My years of experience have made me proficient in problem-solving due to the tedious nature of many applications, accompanied by a typing words per minute score of one hundred. Even though I'm only eighteen years old, being involved in tech for the majority of my life has made me extremely aware of the barriers that marginalized groups face largely in STEM. This sparked my passion for activism and I am currently a Youth Ambassador for Plan International Canada's Girls Belong Here program. Providing business opportunities to young women is essential now more than ever to ensure that innovation continues to thrive, and I hope that I can help create a growth-oriented environment that is inclusive of all.
