My visual art breaks the rules. I free-style with layers of fabric and 3-dimensional forms. Recycled and store bought textiles are free-hand cut and arranged until something unexpected breaks through. The layers are held together with machine and hand stitching. Paints and found objects are added to each piece. My contemporary textile soft sculpture is uncommon, unexpected, and earth friendly.I enjoy working with the community to create public art installations incorporating techniques from my personal practice. Our major projects have included the Peace Labyrinth; Faces and Voices of West Louisville; and the ELA House (Energy Light and Art). WLWC has received grants through Mayor Greg Fischer's Lots of Possibility competition and the Kentucky Foundation for Women. WLWC was originally founded as a for-profit organization under the name of the West Louisville Women's Coalition, LLC.
