Teacher of Science, Geography and Social Studies

- Assisting teachers with classroom lessons- providing additional aide in literacy and numeracy for students (Yr 5 to 8)- working with ORS funded students with goals and programmes- create meaningful relationships with students to help provide a safe environment for learning and personal/individual growth

- Delivering a series of scripted scientific presentations and experiments to a group of 20 to 120 students aged between Yr1 to Yr10- Encouraging interactive learning through the many exhibits. - create relationships with students and staff and identify areas of interests in each individual to find a way to connect through science. - Relate and identify social and cultural significance in the science exhibits. eg - climate change, mātauranga Māori, etc.

Key Responsibilities:• Site investigations for residential, subdivision, commercial and industrial developments to provide foundation recommendations and designs.• Construction Inspections of driven and bored piles, retaining walls, and standard foundations.• Slope Stability Assessment and studies using SLIDE.• Liquefaction analysis and studies using CLiq • AutoCADD, Quattro Pro and Microsoft Office proficient• Project management: job procurement and pricing, undertaking fieldwork, report writing within chosen deadlines and budgets.• Invoicing within the final stages of the project.• Undertaking fieldwork, sampling and client and contractor engagement for large projects including the Tauhara Geothermal Power Station• Supervising and supporting junior staff with fieldwork, logging and report writing.

Key Responsibilties:- Receiving samples for testing through the computerised laboratory system- Conducting routine bench work including sample labeling and preparation, weighing, pipetting pouring/mixing agar and storing for correct incubation.- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment throughout the working day.- Strong organisational skills and double checking throughout the testing process is required to complete high work without error

Working as a Mud Logging Analyst, with responsibilities that included retrieving, washing and archiving formation cuttings, mud and gas samples, the maintenance and troubleshooting of sensors during drilling operations, logging geological descriptions in industry specific software and real time data acquisition.- Proven ability to perform well under time pressures, displayed through consistent high quality sampling during high drilling rates.- High commitment to QHSE, evident through being the recipient to an on-site safety award for best task debrief of the week.- Experience on an Extended Reach Drilling (ERD) project on a triple land rig in VIC, Australia. - Exposure working with water based mud (WBM) and synthetic based mud (SBM) drilling fluid.- Showing high attention to detail when sampling, through the early detection of pressure cavings. - Received a promotion after two months on recommendation of the Wellsite Geologists based on great work performance.Working remotely on a 2 week on and off roster.
