By implementing these recommendations the required task met the NIOSH Lifting Guidelines and improved the satisfaction and safety of the operators.- Used Solid Edge to continuously update Humphrey Products building floor plans including assembly and the machine rooms equipment locations.- Organized the merger and relocation of two finishing departments. I researched NFPA 484 standards and identified proper equipment that is needed to handle buffing of aluminum. I also developed a new floor layout using operator input and work design tools. The relocation improvements included: improved material flow by reducing distance traveled between equipment, safety standards, supervisor visibility, and aesthetics. - Performed time studies and analyzed scrap rates to determine the cost and quality performance difference between the existing end-of-process testing and adding an in-line testing station.
