As a Research Assistant, I work on an existing geolocation checker that validates a commercial VPN server's location using round-trip time measurements from RIPE anchors operated by RIPE NCC. With the existing checker, however, we can easily exhaust unnecessary resources while checking for the location. Thus, my work is on understanding the challenges and proposing a more accurate and faster-advanced geo-checker. During my research, I contributed to the publication, “Selection of Landmarks for Efficient Active Geolocation,” presented at the TMA Conference 2024, where we explored efficient geolocation methods.
