Bob, a third generation Colorado native, started his career with Boettcher & Co., a well respected Colorado Investment Banking Firm. Bob then became interested in the possibilities of commercial real estate in Denver. He became a partner in a firm that acquired and managed small multi-family properties. Sensing a need for more flexible mortgage financing Bob and his dad Joe Amter together founded Montgera Capital in 1971 to provide commercial real estate loans to borrowers who were not getting the financing they needed from banks or institutional lenders. They modeled Montegra on GE Capital which made large sums available to real estate borrowers but the small to mid size borrowers had no where to go. Over his 47 year career Bob has underwritten and funded approximately $600,000,000 of private money commercial real estate bridge loans. Montegra is recognized as the oldest and most respected direct lender of private money for commercial real estate in Colorado. Montegra derives the capital to fund its loans from Montegra Capital Income Fund, L.P. (the "Fund") which Bob founded with his partner Bill Stanfill in 1992. Bob and Bill are the General Partners of the Fund . The Fund takes in investments from accredited private investors looking for an alternative income producing investment. . Although the income returned to the investors varies each year the averaged net IRR returned to the Limited Partners since the Fund's inception in June 2009 through year end 2012 is 8.75%. The Fund is open to accepting select new accredited investors. Montegra has recently opened a new Fund which finances the purchase of marijuana tenanted warehouses. Montegra Warehouse Fund, L.P. is also open to accepting select new accredited investors. Specialties: Underwriting and closing private capital commercial real estate loans.
