I am an award winning architectural and interior designer with bachelor, masters, and PhD degrees in architectural engineering, and I have been contributing to the fields of design, project management, research and education for 20 years. I have been collaborating with young and professional designers to provide innovative design solutions since 2000. Making use of; my ability to manage projects and teams; and my attention to details, to approach each new design challenge with a creative yet efficient manner, I got my bachelors degree in architectural engineering from Ain Shams university, which is one of the oldest & most reputable universities in Egypt and the Middle East region. After that I got my masters degree focusing on the impact of nanotechnology on building technology. Then I got my PHD, studying the impact of nano-enhanced applications on the environmental design process. Since then I have conducted 3 post-docs where I researched the design process within pedagogical design studios. In the first 6 years of my 20 years of experience, I worked at five of the top local/multinational architectural design firms and engineering consultancies based in Egypt. There, I designed and managed mainly large scale projects (theaters, shopping malls, office buildings, resorts, community parks, hospitals and hotels), which were constructed in Egypt, UAE, India, KSA, and Sudan. In 2009 I cofounded my multidisciplinary design firm; ASAS. For the following 14 years I managed there the design and construction of 100+ architectural, interior, furniture, and landscape projects in several cities in Egypt and Canada, ranging from residential to corporate and commercial. In Toronto we offered design consultancy services for 3 projects, gaining me knowledge of the OBC, building inspections, and Canadian finishing materials and their suppliers.In 2022, joined Syllable Inc., based in Toronto, Canada, as a Senior Team Lead. I am currently managing and designing projects being constructed in Toronto, Vancouver, and Niagara Fall, collaborating with team members and stakeholders across the globe. I am also currently Co-Lead of the Youth Outreach Initiative at the TSA.Additional, throughout my 20 years of practicing design I also taught as an independent assistant professor at departments of architectural engineering at both the Arab Academy for Science & Technology in Egypt, and the American University in Cairo. I also was a chief contributor to MAGAZ Magazine, from 2008 to 2011, and have been invited to graduation and project review session at UofT and TMU.
