•Served as an airport security official and delivered quality customer service by communicating with travelers; gaining their cooperation and facilitating the security process•Performed leadership assignments, which included rotating schedules, calibrating equipment and troubleshooting in the absence of the Lead Transportation Security Officer•Playbook certified, which entailed conducting random plays in and around the airport. These plays included; random gate screenings, random employee checks, vehicle inspections, random plays in front of the checkpoints, and conducting plays at Union Station with the assistance of Amtrak police•Considered an expert and have trained new Transportation Security Officers in:-X-ray screening of passenger carry-on items-Various types of luggage and carry-on item searches, to include: Physical Bag Search, Interior Bag Search, Interior Perimeter Bag Search and Explosive Trace Detection Bag Search)-Passenger Pat-down searches-Liquid container searches-Advanced Imaging Technology Searches-Metal Detector Searches-Establishing a command presence-Verifying authenticity of airport passengers travel documents and photo identification-Identifying the various prohibited items and preventing them from entering through security-Responding to questions, concerns and comments from the traveling public-Engaging in conversations in order to obtain vital information about a passengers travel plans-Monitoring behavior and body language to detect irregularities-Maintaining Sensitive information-Explaining actions or decisions made in response to a security incident-Communicating with team members in order to respond to security incidents-Identifying relationships among multiple sources of information-Making risk assessments based on incomplete or conflicting information-Documenting incidents involving security issues to ensure all information is captured
