I help companies design, build, and test machines and components for manufacturing as well as finished consumer products. My specialties are machine design, product design, manufacturing, and prototyping and testing.

I worked in the BioInstrumentation Laboratory with Prof. Ian Hunter for my Master's Degree. My work focused on designing and building a custom piezoelectric actuator for use in a needle-free jet injection medical device. Our focus is to use a piezo-based actuator for high viscosity fluid in low-volume injections. I developed our in-house capability to make custom piezo actuators from PZT powder. This involves, die pressing, heat treatment, sintering, diamond saw slicing, high voltage poling, and electroding. I designed and built the components and setups necessary for each step. Our custom actuator can achieve pressures as high as 60 MPa in a matter of 10 microseconds.

I worked in the MIT Biomimetic Robotics Laboratory and helped design and build a custom module for monitoring and logging instantaneous power usage from the robot's onboard battery. I also assisted with carrying out various experiments of the MIT Cheetah's locomotion and ability to jump over obstacles.

This is the well-known introductory electronics class at Harvard University based on The Art of Electronics by Horowitz and Hill. As the TA for this class my responsibilities included setting up the electronics laboratory, selecting and restocking electronic components, assisting with each electronics lab session, holding three-hour homework help sessions every other week, holding extended review sessions for each exam, meeting students one-on-one for tutoring, and reviewing all course materials for technical errors. I also gave instructional presentations to the students during lecture time. The course is highly demanding and has required approximately thirty hours of work each week. I was awarded the certificate of teaching excellence from the Harvard Bok Center for Teaching based on the outstanding reviews of my teaching from the students.

I worked with Prof. Sangbae Kim to analyze and understand the functional requirements of the flexible spine for the MIT Cheetah robot. I conducted thorough background research in the relevant biology and biomechanics and came up with a unique design for an artificial spine that was put into use on the actual robot. I also performed detailed research and a literature review for the tail of the robot. We conducted experiments with the tail in rejecting disturbances and ran simulations of the tail’s ability to reorient the body in flight. We published our findings in the conference proceedings of IROS.

Worked as a primary engineer in a small company of twenty people (Including office support, engineering staff, manufacturing staff, and prototype machining). The company's product was an advanced high-speed production-level centrifuge for biotech companies. I helped with every aspect, including mechanical design, 3D modeling, simulation, calculation, fabrication, testing, on-site repair, and troubleshooting.
