Business:I have been the owner/operator of Klein Graphics LLC since 1984. During my forty years, I have worn many hats: from processing film and running presses, to art directing for an organization with a million dollar a month budget. I have worked as art director for Radix Magazine in Berkeley, California; art director of Jews for Jesus in San Francisco, California; and as interim art director and creative consultant for Nationwide Advertising, also in San Francisco, California.Interests:I enjoy painting and the fine arts. As an NCGA (Northern California Golf Association) member I currently have a 14 golf index. My real passion is my family. My wife Jeni and I have been married for 42 years and I have three children and three grandchildren. Over the years I have volunteered for many community groups such as: AYSO (American Youth Soccer Association) as a coach, referee and board member; BSA Scoutmaster; Drowning Prevention Foundation Advisor; and on other community boards. I enjoy coaching youth sports and have done so for over 30 years.I have taught yearbook and art classes for the G.A.T.E. (Gifted and Talented Education) program in S.F. East Bay Area Schools.Ministry:I was commissioned as a Stephen Minister at Hillside Covenant Church in 2009; I have served on a variety of boards, including True North Singles Christian Fellowship; In 2006 I founded Light in the Closet Ministries which provides counseling and promotes advocacy on behalf of the Transgender Community; In 2010, 2011 and 2012 I helped organize and lead the Transgender Religious Leaders Summit (inter-faith) in Berkeley, CA; I have also traveled to Washington, DC, and Atlanta to advocate for human rights in lobbying, and education efforts since 2008, with Practice Spirit do Justice, NCTE and HRC; I have published articles and taught on the issue of inclusion of all people within faith communities, with the objective of opening avenues of communication and promoting inclusion of transgender members specifically. I currently speak at various Transgender events on the topic of inclusion within faith communities.
