I am a senior healthcare executive and internationally certified leadership coach with more than 25 years of contracting and operational expertise in both the payer and provider healthcare segments. I have served in a multitude of roles, including trauma nurse, vice president, market president/CEO, and in various other executive capacities. As a value based contracting expert involving complex delivery systems, I strategically, intuitively, and analytically resolve difficult and formidable negotiations through a 360 degree lens that ultimately leads to long term relationships or partnerships. I hold a BSN and MBA, which makes for a powerful combination that has enabled me to drive and align medical cost affordability with consumer centric network needs using data analytics, AI and market innovation. In many roles my adherence to budgets with a focus on profitability has led to expertise in total medical cost management. Credited with creating the nation’s first pediatric HMO, Texas Children’s Health Plan, and the market’s first network specializing in AIDS/HIV, I hold a proven track record of designing product and payment models (bundled rates, gain share, risk share, per diems, DRG, case rates, stop-loss) across all product lines including commercial, exchange, Medicare and Medicaid. My background is rooted in innovation, thinking intuitively, doing what others have not done before (or were too afraid to try), and creating new out-of-the-box solutions. I believe firmly in making a difference by playing an intricate role to improve healthcare. My passion is leading and building large high performing teams or cross functional groups that develops new talent and succeeds through collaboration, vision, and communication (I love public speaking).
