Communications Advisor
Current• Create, implement and oversee communications plans and marketing strategies for high-priority projects, that align to department business plans, the Council Work Plan and the strategic plan ensuring milestones are identified, deadlines are met, and results measured.• Provide strategic communications, marketing and public engagement advice to clients.• Create content, for use in communications tools, such as social media, digital and print communications.• Write media releases, backgrounders, FAQs or scripts; fact check and proof-read in accordance to Canadian Press Style.• Create briefing notes for Council when needed.• Ongoing issues management and monitoring communications environment to protect brand reputation and identify potential crisis. Utilize political acuity to advise clients and leadership regarding contentious matters and updates regarding trends and issues.
