Worked on a part-time basis as Business Development Director for Bhate on March 3, 2017 after my phased-retirement as Director of Federal Programs. Coordinated regularly scheduled face to face meetings with current and potential customers, primarily with Air Force, US Army Corps of Engineers, Navy, and other various Federal and State customers. Primary focus was environmental, demolition, vertical construction and fuels. Attended Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) conferences and scheduled meetings with current or potential customers, as well as with current or potential teaming partners.

Served as Director of Federal Programs for Bhate Environmental. Retired as full-time employee on March 3, 2017 to become Director of Business Development. As Director of Federal Programs, I supervised eight (8) Program Managers and oversaw program execution. Coordinated regularly scheduled face to face meetings with current and potential customers, primarily with Air Force, US Army Corps of Engineers, Navy, and other various Federal and State customers. Primary focus was environmental, demolition, vertical construction and fuels. Served as Environmental Remediation Branch Chief of the US Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District. Supervised two (2) Sections with thirty-two (32) Project Managers executing annually $300M of environmental remediation services (ERS) and Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP) work for Army, Air Force and other Federal Agencies. Significant accomplishments included:1) Realignment of MMRP Design Center to facilitate rapid growth of MMRP workload from $34M in FY07 to over $120M annually by FY10.2) Envisioned and over saw the development of the $7.07B Multiple Environmental Governmental Acquisition (MEGA) contract strategies with 7 USACE Districts and 3 Divisions. Strategy included 95 multiple task order contracts (MATOCs) and 27 Brooks Act A-E contracts. Total Small Business prime contract percentage for the MEGA was 61%.

Supervised approximately 12-15 Project Managers executing environmental remediation projects for the Army, Air Force, EPA, and other Federal Agencies. In addition to the successful execution of the environmental programs, additional significant accomplishments included:1) Served 120 day temporary detail as Civil Works Branch Chief2) Leader/Developer of the 'Shape the Future' exercise for the Omaha District in which the district was evaluated for workload, overhead usage, organizational efficiencies, and manpower. Made recommendations to the Commander to shape staffing levels for projected peaks and valleys of workload.3) Served 60+days as Mission Manager of the Critical Public Facilities programs as a result of Hurricane Katrina and Rita. Developed and structured an organization that executed a $200M program for the New Orleans area schools, public hospitals, public utilities, and any other critical public facility.4) Was lead Project Manager for the Edward Zorinsky Federal Building renovation.5) Served 9 month temporary detail as Assistant Branch Chief/Section Chief for the Hazardous, Radioactive, Waste (HTRW) Branch of the Planning, Programs, and Project Management (PPPM) Division.6) Served 8 month temporary detail as Environmental (Superfund) Branch Chief, Engineering Division. Supervised 7 sections, staff of 100+ people, and a budget in excess of $100M.

Served as Civil Engineer responsible for the design and construction of channel stabilization structures in the Channel Stabilization Section, Hydro Branch, Engineering Division. Primary responsibility was the design and construction of Section 32 channel stabilization projects on the Missouri River in North and South Dakota. Received the National Endowment of Art Federal Design award for the Eagle's Roost project near Fort Randal Dam, South Dakota.
