Upon graduation from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Civil Engineering in December 1979, I went to work for the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) in Omaha, NE. My 33 year federal career included working primarily for the Omaha District (30 total years) with a 3 year stint at the Missouri River Division from 1986-1989. I began my federal career designing erosion control structures on the upper reaches of the Missouri River for 3 years, then moved into the Hazardous and Toxic Waste (HTW) cleanup arena for the next 30 years as a Project Manager, Superfund Program Manager at the Missouri River Division, then back to the Omaha District as a HTW Section Chief, and ultimately as the Environmental Remediation Branch Chief my final 6 years with USACE. I retired on December 31, 2011 and was hired by Bhate Environmental, a Small Business out of Birmingham, AL. I worked 5 years as the Director of Federal Programs, supervising Program Managers across multiple fields including environmental, construction, fuels, and demolition. My last year with Bhate, I worked part-time as the Business Development Director as I transitioned to retirement. I have been blessed to have worked for a great federal organization and a great small business which were both lead by outstanding individuals. I cherish my relationships established with my supervisors, my peers, and people that happened to work under my leadership. In May 2019, I have agreed to support Bhate on a part-time basis from business development support. It has been wonderful to continue my relationship with Bhate and the business community!
