After a six-month search, I turned over my position to Kathy McElligott, McKesson's new CIO & CTO, and consulted with her in support of an orderly transition for 30 days.

As CIO, responsible for 1,800 employees (1,000 direct, 800 outsourced/contract), $600m budget, accountable for: • Enterprise business technology strategy and governance in federated model• Enterprise IT Security and Risk Management• Enterprise infrastructure and applications operations• Project / account / product portfolio managementAs CTO, responsible for collaboratively setting technology standards, development standards, and security standards for McKesson’s portfolio of healthcare technology products, developed for use by providers (acute, ambulatory, extended care, and specialty), pharmacies (inpatient and outpatient), payers, and laboratories. During my tenure, our technology businesses adopted CMMi and raised quality levels substantially while reducing non-labor development expense.I am also responsible for business integration activities that increase the velocity of synergy realization in M&A.

• Managed a portfolio of clinical technology businesses, full P&L responsibility including sales; products included diagnostic imaging, cardiology, laboratory, document imaging, technology services, and physician portal applications. . • Managed group level strategic planning, procurement, and internal IT

Responsible for Laboratory Information Systems development, implementations, and support. HBOC was subsequently acquired by McKesson.

Managed all non-sales operations of laboratory information systems business, from start-up through ramp-up and subsequent sale of the business to HBOC
