My role with the company is very diverse. I am a safety trainer for our internal teams, facilitating key safety programs such as forklift operation and high voltage safety -- programs which have greatly improved the organization's employee awareness of hazards and how to prevent serious incidents.In addition, I travel to customer sites nationwide in support of the account management team. I provide product demos of the Nikola motors battery electric semi trucks to introduce our customers to the products and their capabilities. Once the account comes on board and has purchased our product, I often travel to their site to teach their teams how to safely operate and fully utilize the Nikola electric semis.I introduced the organization's Commercial Drivers License (CDL) training program. In partnership with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and state Departments of Transportation (ADOT/CDOT), I created Nikola's CDL training program standards. I also gained federal and state approval to use battery electric hydrogen fuel cell class 8 semi trucks to train and test CDL drivers. To date, 38 drivers have used this program to gain their license, which has saved the company thousands of dollars in costs.

After wrapping up my active duty US Air Force service in this role from &/2008 to 7/2010, I transitioned into the same position as a federal employee of the Air Force. The office of the Inspector General receives, evaluates, investigates and resolves complaints from 300K+ military service members, retirees and their families. These complaints range from allegations of fraud, waste and abuse, to harassment, wrongdoing or inappropriate behavior. The office also receives and responds to inquiries from members of Congress. In this role, consistent interpretation and application of policies was critical. We took a methodical approach to gathering facts, analyzing information and assessing issues before making informed decisions about the dismissal or escalation of the issue.Customer service and communication were a critical component of this role as it was a public-facing role that engaged with complainants, witnesses and leaders on a regular basis. In addition, our office regularly provided training and education to leaders on policy and procedure so that we could mitigate any future incidents of non-compliance.
