I started my career as the controller for a manufacturing firm, doing all the accounting and computer work. In my two years there, I computerized the company, moving it from manual accounting to Peachtree and then later to the Macola Accounting System. I spent 10 years in the computer industry. For 2 years I would master 5 to 6 hardware and software components, develop presentations, and present them to various retail stores, chains, and superstores in my region. For the next 7 years I did sales and marketing for Lotus Development, rolling out marketing programs, presenting and training retail, wholesale and Lotus Business Partners on Lotus software and Lotus Volume Sales Program, as well as running trade shows.I spent 1 year doing business development and consultative selling for a Microsoft Business Partner, calling at the executive level in Fortune 1000 companies. I also have experience distributing health foods in to the grocery stores and warehouse stores and distributing snack foods in to convenience stores. Researched & developed the Houston health and grocery store markets for the sales of Heartland bread. Directed all sales and distributing activities through Costco, Sam’s Club, Whole Foods, Rice’s Epicurean Markets and Kroger’s. Setup & managed in-store demonstration teams.I built a sandwich shop/cafe from the ground up and ran it with my family for 7 years. Managed all facets of the startup and development of the business, including: Marketing and business plan; Financing; Recipes and product mix; POS; Information and accounting systems; All Inside and outside sales and marketing, including all marketing and advertising content & materials & loyalty programs; Recruited, hired, trained, and managed all employees. Built a website for Beehive Homes regional operations and then developed microsites for each individual location using WordPress. Responsible for search engine optimization and all internet marketing & social media.
