I am an established library science consultant with more than 30 years of experience across diverse sectors such as public health, literacy and higher education. I am also a passionate mental health advocate - over the last three decades, I have co-founded three half-way homes in India (Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi) to support rehabilitation for people living with chronic mental illnesses. Throughout my career, I have sought opportunities to expand the frontiers of library and information sciences - from reinventing library services in the digital era to extending our impact in the local communities we serve. My personal highlights include: - an award-winning programme for training those with mental illnesses in managing libraries- establishing Mobile Library Projects for rural school children in collaboration with Ashoka University, bringing over 70% of students back to school. This story has been featured in the Library Map of the World as the only story to be covered from India under the SDG stories by the International Federation of Library AssociationsI am grateful to have my work recognised in several national and international platforms, and am inspired to continue making new connections across industries through information services to bring about vital and meaningful changes in our communities.
