As parents we often feel guilty and overwhelmed when at home, at work, and when doing pretty much anything, like trying to take time out for ourselves.Because we know we wont get this time back or second chances.We know we should be  "patient" and "present" getting our children out of the door to nursery or school, but it's hard not to feel impatient, snappy, then guilty -  as they enthusiastically "hide" their shoes in their cereal, and focus on moodily doing the opposite of whatever we ask, meanwhile we can feel the clock ticking for our 8.30 call...This stops us from feeling successful as a parent, performing and pursuing our career goals, and looking after ourselves.The solution is to intentionally put structure in place to develop and support ourselves as parents, so we stop jumping form one parenting milestone (challenge!) to another hoping things will get better.The Present Parent Program does this.
