I am a community practitioner and frontline manager working to empower communities, navigating social constructs and service frameworks to create synergies for cohesive change. I hold an undergraduate degree in Social Work and have worked in both community and public sectors in the past 15 years. I am bilingual in Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).My strengths span accommodation grants coordination, frontline staff management, facility management, contract management and procurement, capital works management, community development, policy development, stakeholder relationship management and casework. Leading teams consisting of permanent and agency staff, I have managed large multi-purpose community facilities to deliver sports, recreation, and community programs, while managing relationships across internal teams and external tenants. I have worked extensively with diverse communities, including culturally and linguistically diverse groups, older people, people with mental and physical disabilities, and transient populations such as homeless persons, international students and backpackers. I enabled service cohesion by co-founding two multi-disciplinary interagency networks based on geographical and language populations.I have extensive community programming and event management experience, organizing cultural and community events at various keynote indoor and outdoor locations within the City of Sydney, including Sydney Town Hall, Customs House, and Martin Place Amphitheatre.My professional interest is to empower and advocate for positive change both for people I work with, and those I serve through privileges afforded by my employer.
