Raphael took a Degree in Chinese literature in Taipei. After a short stint in Taiwan as an editor, Raphael returned to Malaysia in 1996 and started his advertising career as a Chinese copywriter with Batey Ads. He was part of Euro RSCG for a few years where he had the opportunity to lead a Merdeka campaign and had it presented to the then Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir. After spending almost 2 years in Saatchi & Saatchi, he joined Naga DDB as Head of Copy in Chinese Division. Raphael has vast experience in the Chinese market segment and has worked on brands such as Yeo’s, Guinness, Nanyang Siang Pao, Carlsberg, DiGi, Hong Leong Bank and Astro. He has also bagged numerous awards, which include Grand Longxi Awards, ADFest, D&AD, Malaysia Effie Awards and Kancil Awards. He's also a Kancil Awards jury in 2010, 2011 & 2013.
