I entered into this field study with an analytic objective to write a research paper on them. My question was: What does it take to have a small business that operates smoothly, where different groups can come together in synergy and thrive?I applied the knowledge that I have gained through my Econ and Business classes to my internship at Santa Cruz CORE. Company synergy is what I focused on. I have researched this small business as I have interned for them. I have analyzed their day to day objectives and observed how well they work together. I have been in their marketing group and have applied what I have already learned. I have observed how they teach new hires and interns. Ultimately, my objective was to see what it takes to have a small business that operates where different groups can come together, thrive and individual employees can be happy as they are being productive to make the company profitable.
