I began living my life once I got into college - though a small one, it differed from my previous environment in that there were peers and professionals with individual ideas, and it was quite enjoyable to experience all the opportunities to learn from others. I came to highly prize such opportunity, learning much about how others went about their lives. Once I learned I had the freedom of choice, I had to explore the variety of options.My professional focus is to assist the natural environment, so of course I had to join the college farm to appreciate agricultural workings. I also joined the local nonprofit Help Yourself Edibles, maintaining urban green spaces downtown and holding outdoor recreational programs for the youth.Because opportunity allowed, I branched out so as to enjoy more variety, joining the college dining commons to appreciate the food industry, also immersing myself in youth education with helping teach at the Early Learning Center and Sugarloaf youth track league.Of course, this was in conjunction with the courses portion of college, and I took a variety of classes, including art history, electronic music, metalwork, R-studio, and Fusion360. In my later years I honed in on wetland monitoring and assessment, using what I've learned to perform my own wetland monitoring report for my BA thesis, one way to practice preserving the natural environment.I kept with my other hobbies too, and would often penny board around and occasionally play my trumpet. Poetry Club and the track team also provided invaluable opportunities and helped satiate the need to experience.
