Senior Software Engineer

Current

I am a highly skilled freelance remote developer for TopTal clients. I've worked on a number of projects with TopTal. My primary project here was the SBB Financial Analyzer, an Excel-like web application for corporate financial analysis. • I was responsible for implementing the project from concept to production. • The application is built on Blazor, uses a SQL database on the backend, and runs on Azure. • It has sophisticated user interface that emulates Excel functionality, including cells, data editing, and financial reports with graphics and formulas. • It also incorporates a Stripe-based subscription model. • Another developer is now supporting it, which is a good sign for the quality of the code.

Jun 2018 - Present

Senior Dotnet Developer

Data Parser, Inc

Windows app for financial auditors to search and parse scanned PDF documents. It is a startup. • I developed the app from the initial business idea to the released product. • All technical solutions were initiated by me and approved by the client. • It is a Windows application built on the .NET Framework, which is installed/uninstalled with an installation script. • OCR (Tesseract) based logic is used for parsing PDFs, and OpenCV is used for image preprocessing. • The app has sophisticated algorithms, developed by me, for extracting tables, identifying numbers, searching for texts, and other tasks. • I developed this complex app in just a year!

Senior Software Developer

Novosibirsk, Russia

2GIS. Local search company that develops digital maps and cities guides. (https://2gis.ru)- Worked in the team to develop the search engine for the entire 2GIS product line (online, Android, iOS).- This is a C++ engine (including boost), and the main efficiency criteria were the speed of query execution and the amount of RAM used. It uses complex algorithms and technical solutions.- My main goal was to reduce the amount of information transferred for daily updates on end-user devices (before that, updates were once a month).- Managed to reduce the amount of information by 10 times.

Jun 2015 - May 2018

Senior Software Engineer

Novosibirsk, Russia

Startup. It was a mobile app (and a whole service behind it) which allowed to pay the bill in a restaurant without calling a waiter. Client should just put the phone on the table to make it see the check, click couple buttons in the mobile app and that's it. My tasks:- Task #1: need a service to collect information about guests' orders, create and edit orders in restaurant management systems (iiko, R-Keeper). o Problem: restaurant management systems have a very poor API that do not meet the requirement, so there were some alternative approaches used. o Worked both with restaurant software vendors to learn from their experience in solving similar problems, and with developers to clarify details on APIs. o Developed a .NET service that runs on the main computer in a restaurant and interacts with the restaurant management system. o As a result, Omnom knows how to retrieve orders data, modify an order, and create a new order.- Task #2: need to transmit information from Omnom's internal systems to restaurant guests and staff. o Communication with restaurant guests was organized by integrating the necessary information into the receipt for the guest (QR code and text) through a POS printer. o Communication with the staff was solved in two ways: by displaying the necessary information on the screen of the restaurant management system, or by integrating the information into the order receipt, which goes to the kitchen. o In both cases it was a .NET service that had an API for external access and could embed information into the POS printer or display the message on the screen (depending on the system).- Organized the launch of the Omnom system in two restaurants, including setting up and debugging the equipment, staff training, and monitoring the system work.
