I have Studied the development and integration of cortical Interneurons during postnatal stages of mouse development.In particular, I have identified the molecular mechanism of developmental cell death in the interneuron population.In addition, using cellular and molecular techniques my team found that interneuron integration is dependent on environmental information. Nature neuroscience.Area of Expertise:-Extraction of cells from a live tissue (primary cell culture). -Genomic DNA isolation from tissue and cell samples and PCR amplification.-RNA extraction from cells and tissues and cDNA manufacture.-Real-time PCR from cDNA samples.-Western blotting from tissue and cell samples.-Cell and tissue processing for confocal microscope based imaging. -Experience in confocal microscopy, fluorescent microscopes including Zeiss and Leica -2-photon calcium imaging.-Rodent and Drosophila behavior.-Softwares like Adobe photoshop, Illustrator, Neurolucida.Volunteered for neuroscience outreach program in India.
