Worked under leading killer whale researcher Dr. Deborah Giles to collect and analyze feces and behavior data of critically endangered Southern Resident killer whales. 4 months of ocean-going data collection with a trained scent-detection dog, onboard wet lab, vessel-based data collectors such as range finders.Managed onboard fecal sample processing, utilizing range finders, Photo ID image capturing, and sterilizing methods. Found 9% decrease in rest and socialization, and an increase in foraging, a result of a decline of their prey base: chinook salmon.

Branched out to incorporate different community aspects, such as fundraisers, "do good" pop-ups and science communication. This project evolved into a full-time consulting role at the EARTHGANG Foundation and being hired at Wild Orca.

Hand-on at Sea experience with Remotely Operated Vehicles, CTDs, Rosettes, and Niskins as part of the Ocean Observatories Initative's annual expedition to Axial Seamount. The ROV installed instrumentation at 2000- 5000m depth supporting the largest network of sub-surface data collection in the Pacific Ocean. I worked alongside Applied Physics Lab, ROPOS engineers, and UW Oceanographers during this expedition aboard the R/V Thomas G. Thompson.

Worked closely with advisors to plan and execute a trip to the National High School Model United Nations conference in New York City for the first time in school history.
