Since 2016, I've served as a regular contributor to iRun Magazine, a nationally distributed publication dedicated to educating, informing, and inspiring Canadian runners of all levels.Conducted interviews and produced stories for iRun website and print edition, including profiles of elite athletes, local race reports, promotional articles for races, gear reviews, and other topics related to running and the running community. Examples of my work are included in the publication section of my profile. I have also represented the publication as a race reporter and at press conferences across Ontario.

At Forests Ontario, I managed and supported a multitude of projects that strengthened support for the organization's programs. Since 2015, managed the creation and distribution of Forests Ontario's quarterly magazine, Our Forest (samples in the project section of my profile).Chaired quarterly meetings to establish content and deadlines for each issue.Managed the intake and editing of all contributions and signed off on final proofs for printing.Lead writer on successful proposals to the Ontario Trillium Foundation ($200,000+ each); TD Friends of the Environment ($100,000+); RBC Foundation ($100,000); and numerous community foundations.Secured funding from Ontario Trillium Foundation ($250,000+) to establish EcoHealth Ontario, a collaborative of professionals in the fields of public health, medicine, education, planning and the environment. Ongoing work of collaborative has supported workshops, communications material, and resources to help organizations strengthen the connection between human health and the environment.Successfully pitched Forests Ontario as a charity of choice in the LCBO Provincial Donation Box program for four years running. Managed communications activities related to events hosted and attended by Forests Ontario (e.g. public tree plantings, annual conference, and Toronto Christmas Market). Managed social media coverage of Forests Ontario's 2019 conference which resulted in event trending nationally.Managed accounts for Forests Ontario’s social media platforms (Combined 25,000+ followers) since 2016. Scheduled weekly content using Hootsuite, supported awareness campaigns within the environmental sector, and managed ongoing advertising and awareness campaigns. Created content for Forests Ontario's website, annual reports, informational collateral, and sponsorship proposals.

Assisted in planning and implementing TFSS' 'beyond 3:30' after-school program at Joseph Brant Senior Public School in Scarborough, Ontario. Provided academic support, nutritional education, and recreational activities for up to thirty middle school students each day.

Provided ongoing support for communications and outreach as well as government relations projects. Primary duties included drafting news releases and web updates aimed at informing the public of developments in the food and farming sector. Coordinated letter-writing campaigns encouraging lawmakers to support food and farming related legislation. I took the lead in developing content for Sustain Ontario's revamped website and also provided writing, editing, and research assistance on a series of policy backgrounders highlighting various issues within the food and farming sector.

Represented a variety of charitable organizations as a face-to-face fundraiser across the Greater Toronto Area. Clients represented include the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), Doctors Without Borders, and the United Nations Refugee Agency. Demonstrated effective face-to-face communication and fundraising skills by regularly recruiting new donors to charities.

As a volunteer for the Canadian International Learning Foundation (CanILF), an Ottawa based NGO offering support to educational initiatives in at-risk regions, I have offered my writing services to various projects including funding proposal packages and the websites of schools supported by CanILF.I took the lead in writing content for the website of the Afghan-Canadian Community Centre, one of the only institutions in Afghanistan offering training to women in the areas of technology and business management.

My role at Trees Ontario centred on conveying the organization's message to the public, media, and potential partners. I took the lead in identifying potential funding opportunities and wrote and submitted grant proposals on behalf of Trees Ontario, successfully securing funding from the Richard Ivey Foundation as well as the Charles Ivey Foundation. I also balanced addition obligations of preparing press releases for Canada Newswire, writing and updating currently used marketing collateral, alerting relevant media contacts to upcoming events hosted by Trees Ontario, and drafting and implementing an official social media tactical plan.Finally, I collaborated with colleagues to develop the key messaging of Trees Ontario's national Forest Recovery Canada (FRC) program. I wrote the accompanying press release for FRC's launch and content for the program's website.

At Queen's University I served as a Teaching Assistant for the courses "Introduction to Politics" and "Canadian Government." I regularly developed and carried out lesson plans to meet the learning objectives of each tutorial session.In addition, I aided students with understanding course material and developing skills of academic writing and critical thinking. I also took responsibility for grading assignments and exams for up to 80 students in accordance with guidelines set by the course instructor.

At Carino, I worked with a diverse array of clients to develop strategies and content for social media campaigns. Clients included homebuilders, condominium developers, and cosmetic companies. My work on the social media campaign of Rosehaven Homes was recognized at the 2011 BILD (Building Industry and Land Development) Awards.

Responsible for managing a group of up to fifteen children ages 5-7. Supervised activities during daytime, including sports, arts & crafts, music, aquatics, etc.

As a Technical Writer at the NewSolve Corporation, I wrote content for packages detailing the firm's various software products. Upon release of these products, I delivered presentations and executed sales to several clients. Literature still in use and was widely distributed at various trade shows upon initial completion. Additional duties included testing software components to ensure that they met company and industry standards and developing content for the websites of various clients.
