After pursing my initial interest in film & the arts upon graduation from the University of Colorado Denver, I discovered my ideal job of getting into that particular field wasn’t panning out. Involvement in film & the arts was interesting, but I learned how scarce the job market is for the field. While still having a love for the film & arts, it became clear to me to pursue a degree in my second interest. That second interest was Information Technology, and it seemed to be an extension of my arts degree because of the required technology I previously used in art and media productions. I kept my position at King Soopers while completing my education as a means to support myself and to gain new skills. Prior to my graduation from CSU, I sought and found a person in the Denver area who was willing to mentor me as I began to seek out employment in the IT world. I’m currently involved in a mentorship program for Oil and Gas, Microbrewery, and Water/Wastewater Industry standard computer technologies. Also included is application administration, Supervisory and Data Acquisition (SCADA), billing and accounting systems, inventory systems, server technologies, cyber security understanding, and industry operational standard practice.
