Ray Chou is a Los Angeles based Writer, Publisher, and Educator with a passion for creating original worlds and uplifting the next generation.As a writer, Ray is a passionate storyteller who works primarily in comic sequential art. In 2014, Ray's first comic series, Skies of Fire, was voted one of the Top 10 Comics of the Year by the Village Voice. Through his company Mythopoeia, Ray is one of the pioneers of crowdfunded comics, creating a new paradigm for original voices on platforms such as Kickstarter and IndieGoGo. His books have sold over 25,000 copies worldwide and Mythopoeia has cumulatively crowdfunded over $500,000 in eight years.As an educator, Ray explores project-based, collaboration competition curriculum at Breakthrough Training Center located in Arcadia, California, leading one of the nation's top ranked High School Entrepreneurship programs that year after year garners top awards for competitions around the world. In 2021, Ray received the Coach of the Year award from UCLA-based Project Echo, Ray is also highly involved in the AAPI community as one of the founders of ACE NextGen, the premiere gathering of Asian American Millenial Entrepreneurs. He's served as president of the SoCal chapter from 2020 to 2022 and received a Pathfinder Award for his achievements in entrepreneurship and community.
