Upon developing the scope of a project and estimating the total cost, I go to management for funding approval and set up the funds needed to complete a project. Finances are managed through the entirety of a project to ensure that projects are not over-spent, with a drive to 'stretch' and use less than estimated.As the Site Engineering Contact for Paper Converting, I work very close with the Engineering Group located at our Central Facilities in Cincinnati, OH. In Ohio, new innovations are developed to create new and improved products, testing is completed on new equipment developments to drive converting speed increases and product reliability (how well a product is made without down-time), and the fleet of converting lines across the U.S. are managed as a 'Platform' to ensure we all run the same. As the Site Engineering Contact, I keep communications open between the central engineering team and the local plant. I receive Engineering Packages for new developments that I in turn use to Procure Equipment, Schedule Installation, and help with the Start-Up of the new equipment and ensure there are no negative effects of the new installation. I report successes and needs/feedback back to the central engineering team to drive more innovation and continued improvements. Show less

As a Pipeline Safety Engineer, it was my duty to audit the safety records for the Williams Gas Pipeline that runs through the western United States. Due to a recent explosion with another company in California, it was decided to ensure that every mile of pipeline installed & maintained by Williams was tested correctly, and test records existed. This work saved the company millions of dollars in tests that they would have had to perform if these records were not verified as accurate and complete.

As an Intern, I managed the work over 10 projects that the newly started plant was in need of completing. Completing these projects helped the start-up of the new plant to go smoothly, and pave the way for Production Reliability. My performance during this summer with these projects led me to being offered a Full Time position upon graduating the following Spring 2012.

As a Research Intern for the University of Utah (Energy Department), I worked for the Combustion Lab that they used for research. My duties were to support the Graduate Engineering Students in their research in gasification and combustion of coal syngas. My support came in the form of fabricating and building test equipement, helping with the operation of the equipement, and gathering data for analyzing. I grew up on a Farm in Idaho. On my Father's Farm we raised Alfalfa, Wheat, and Seed Potatoes that were grown and sold to larger potato farms for larger scale growing. I had many many responsibilities to help the farm run.My biggest learning from growing up on the farm was to identify problems, sort priorities for each day, and work on was was the most important at the time to keep the far running well.
