Ray earned his Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from Georgia Tech and has been involved in construction, development, sales and management of real properties since that time. He and his wife Pam reside in North Myrtle Beach. He was previously employed by Harper & Company Builders, Inc. of Douglas, Georgia, and managed the development and construction of commercial properties in Alabama, Georgia, the Carolinas and Arizona. Prior to moving back to Georgia and joining Harper in 2001, Ray sold resort homes in planned communities in the Myrtle Beach area, after having been involved in the development and management of resort properties there and having served four years as nationwide Franchise Director of Condotels International, Inc. Prior to his move to Myrtle Beach, he was a principal of construction companies with about $250 million present value of completed works. He was a founder and President of Trendsetter Building Systems, Inc., a manufacturer of multistory, multifamily modular homes, and a founding director of Colony Bankcorp, Inc. (CBAN on Nasdaq).
