After this role I was promoted to head up the Auto Claim East Zone which included 25+ states including a regional operation located in Michigan.After this role was I was asked to lead the implementation of Guidewire Claims Center. This was a five year project which included transforming current state as well as retiring three legacy systems, modernizing aspects of our downstream financial systems and implementing a change management strategy, prior to this effort, not done on this scale at Farmers.

AIG hired me to manage complex losses nationally. After a year in this role I was promoted to National Head of Casualty Claims Strategy. In this role, I created the handling strategy which included all aspects of handling, training, quality assurance and implementation of claims handling technology. This division of AIG was eventually sold to Farmers Insurance. Upon my transition to Farmers, I competed for the Head of Liability there and was hired. It was at this time, our family relocated from South Florida to Los Angeles.

Progressive hired me as a claims trainee in 1987. At that time, we handled all aspects of auto claims including auto estimation. I was also trained on motorcycle, boat and truck claims handling. At one point, I decided at focus on liability claims handling. I was eventually promoted to Branch management and then to state casualty management in Florida. I did leave Progressive to work as a paralegal and then at Continental. After CNA acquired Continental, I returned to Progressive where I was hired to manage the Miami claims branch and then to build the Florida Casualty claims handling team.

Our clients were Fortune 100 accounts and our division was a full service claims and account support service for these very high visibility accounts. I handled claims involving land mining, construction, pollution, trucking, and hotel liability. After 6 months I was promoted to supervise a small team of 6.
