Mr. Schauer has had over 45 years of capital facility design, construction and operation experience including both domestic and international projects. Mr. Schauer is currently the Director of Facility Contract Operations of the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County Florida. In this capacity he is responsible for managing the operation contracts for the Authority’s 3,000 TPD mass burn Waste-to-Energy(WTE) facility, a 2,000TPD Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF), WTE Facility, a dual stream Recovered Material Processing Facility, and Biosolids Processing Facility. Prior to this position he was the Director of Engineering and Public Works responsible for developing, planning and implementing the Authority’s $1.3B Capital Improvement Program. This program included the refurbishment of the existing RDF Facility, two new solid waste transfer stations, a Recovered Materials Processing Facility, a Biosolids Processing Facility and a 3000 TPD Mass Burn Renewable Energy Facility. He served as the Project Director for the implementation of the Authority’s new $680M Renewable Energy Facility, commissioned in July 2015, that incorporates state of the art technology and sustainability features generating in excess of 90 megawatts of clean renewable energy.
