My role included creating an application that would allow for order entry ofthousands of orders from individual post offices, and processing those orders into datathat would be used at press to personalize each piece, along with special bar codes totrigger boxing labels, automatic packing lists and tracking information.Devised and implemented the company wide move to high-speed ink jet imaging in-linewith our presses, at speeds of up to 1000 feet per minute. Eventually grew this businessto include well over $12mm worth of ink jet equipment, 30 staff, and millions of dollarsin revenue.Leader of a team that secured the Bose Electronics account. Besides coordination, mydirect contribution was a web mounted application that allowed for tracking andproduction of over 1 billion pieces annually. Although fully developed in less than onemonth, this application won the President's Award from the Bose Corporation forinnovation in production.
