Developed the first P.I.R. (Passive Infrared ) detection system for human presents detection. This system was used to turn lights on and off when a person entered of left the room. There were several models for security detection. The product sold like hotcakes because it worked so well that it never false triggered and had a lifetime warranty.After several months we noticed an ad in Sharper Image for a device like mine. So I ordered one to find out that it had the exact same mold markings internally that mine had. Come to find out that our financial backer was part of a Chinese company that copied our product. Our government subsidized the manufacturing of this product. The Chinese government also subsidized the production. As it turned out the Chinese company could wholesale the packaged product for less than we could buy the packaging and, they could loose $2.00 per unit and still make money.We tried to defend our patent but, The law firm Gardear & Winn said that if I.B.M. could not defend their "XT" computer then how would we expect to . As it turned out we still sold enough of our product to make money because, ours worked well when theirs failed shortly after purchase. We decided to dissolve the company when more devices started selling at Wal-Mart stores for $19.00.

I formed a company with a financial partner to produce and market a computerized video editor that was priced to sell to schools and small production companies. The device was the Vsec41 that retailed for $1600.00. Later came out with the Vsec81 A/B roll editor. I designed all aspects from the circuitry to the boards and case. I did this while working for WFAA television. We sold over 2.5 million dollars worth of product in the first year. Earnings were to grow the company but, the books were cooked and money was skimmed leaving no real return on investment. Needless to say the company failed because of greed and deception.

Designed control systems for robotics that applied RCC (Reinforced Carbon Carbon) for B1 and NASA space shuttle tile placement. Was awarded a patent that was purchased by another company. I also helped develope a robotic inventory delivery system. This system would pick parts and deliver to the assembly line as needed.

Design and maintain radio repeater systems. Worked on the first "car phone" The radio common carrier system. (RCC) Also maintained mainframe computer systems. ie: IBM 360,370. HP,DEC and Interdata Corp. Interface systems like Hazeltine terminals. Vermont Research Storage (Drum memory). DEC disk based memory systems. I developed a portable computer in a briefcase to diagnose peripheral computer I/O devices like printers and terminals. Along with tape storage systems. This device was basically a personal computer with it's own command set using 8 bit diode arrays. The instruction loader was a built in punch tape reader. To load the program, you just pulled the punch tape through the optical reader. I showed this machine to management. Their response was " No one would ever need a portable computer"!
