The Australasian College of Paramedic Practitioners (ACPP) is delighted to announce the appointment of Adjunct Associate Professor Ray Bange as an Honorary Fellow of the College in recognition of his significant contributions to paramedicine and extensive background in healthcare policy, governance and corporate strategy.Ray has been involved in many aspects of Paramedicine’s evolution and was a key contributor in the advocacy for paramedic registration and other developments including mental health and research recognition. As an Executive Committee member of the Australian Health Care Reform Alliance he also has a broader vision for an equitable, high quality, and person-centred health care system.

Reaffirmation of Honorary Fellowship by the Australasian College of Paramedicine following the merger of the two former Australasian professional bodies.

An appointment that acknowledges continuing contributions to the profession of paramedicine and the delivery of paramedic services. It recognises Ray's extensive work in preparing a body of knowledge and a rigorous case for independent regulation of paramedics along with associated advocacy across all jurisdictions in Australia and in New Zealand. National paramedic registration has now been implemented - Australia 1 December 2018 New Zealand 1 January 2020.

He has directly contributed to numerous government submissions for the College.Ray's service across the whole paramedic profession has been significant, as he has played a lead role in advocating for paramedic registration for more than a decade. With the merger of the two regional associations, his Honorary Fellow status has been recognised by the Australasian College of Paramedicine.

Ray was the principal strategist for Paramedics Australasia in the development of a rigorous case and advocacy for the national registration of paramedics. In addition to preparing significant submissions, he also provided marketing, communications and governance advice leading to the rebranding of the professional body and the formalisation of the Network of Australasian Paramedic Academics (NAPA) and the Student Paramedics Australasia (SPA) group.

Key roles involved the conduct and leadership of significant review studies and investigations across a wide variety of government agencies including health, emergency services, welfare, child protection, education, transport, ICT, Justice, Treasury, Local Government, Thoroughbred racing and Procurement.

Responsible for sensitive review studies, investigations and policy recommendations across multiple government agencies and private (declared public) bodies across the SAR of Hong Kong, China. ICAC lead for infrastructure activities and the Hong Kong Airport project. The ICAC is one of the most powerful integrity agencies in the world. Further details are not available for public release.
