Following an organisational realignment the strategic priorities of the Statewide Operational Services Directorate have been expanded to focus of the complex patient. To support this growing cohort of demand, the Executive Director will establish and operate a Clinical Hub providing clinical telephone assessment, health navigation, statewide patient flow and the development and administration of alternative and integrated care pathways. Reflecting the statewide remit of the directorate, from the roadside to the bedside complex patients will be supported by a range of specialists paramedics with skills in low acuity patients, complex chronic patients, those with compromised of limited mobility or those is remote and austere environments.

The Director of Operations, State wide services is accountable to the Chief Executive Officer for providing strategic leadership and direction and is responsible for the operational management and governance of the service area of responsibility to ensure that it meets agreed performance, quality and clinical standards in the delivery of high quality Ambulance Services. The post holder will influence SAAS strategic and operational objectives, business plans and programs and will collaborate with stakeholders to develop strategic alliances with other health, emergency service and community stakeholders.The Director of Operations, State wide services will be responsible and accountable for the delivery of leadership, development and continuous improvement of:• Emergency Operations Centre• Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response including major events planning• Rescue, Retrieval and Aviation• Operations systems (EOC infrastructure and CAD support) • State Duty ManagersThe Director of Operations, State wide services will participate as an integral member of the Executive Management Team, contributing to the leadership, vision and strategic direction setting for SA Ambulance Service. The position will significantly influence the transformation and reform agenda as part of the service delivery reform process.
