In addition to 30+ years in IT and Business related roles, I have other interests as a Charity Treasurer, Small Enterprise advisor and BTL Landlord and Stock Market Investor. I have worked with more than 100 businesses including Argos, GE, Barclays, ITV Studios, ICL-Fujitsu, McDonalds, Weatherspoons, NFU Mutual and various SME businesses. For most of them dealing with owners, directors, accountants and operations management as well as "shop floor administrators"​ (often the most knowledgeable). My aim is to deliver a solution that is accurate, beneficial and workable. I have mentored many who have attempted "optimal profit"​ solutions that never leave the runway because they are too complex or unwieldy. I am a team player and tend to underplay my deliverables as I'd rather exceed stakeholder expectations than disappoint. My favourite projects are those where the sponsor does not know where to start, and allows me freedom to innovate. I accommodate all contributions, without prejudice and prepared to quantify why they should/should not be adopted so others will follow (and sometimes adopt) my reasoning.I have also worked at NHS & RVS (Non-Profit) and a couple of very small charities covering Best Practise, website development and and book-keeping roles. I even have a couple of utube videos out there.

Initially involved in another Data Migration project (PPI Voice, Image, Calcs and Correspondence archives). This also involved development of an access control mechanism based on role profiles. Followed by a Process Change phase (BPMN) which included system change specs. Also covered a tangential "Cost Justification Report" relating to recruitment and office space costs of additional PPI administrators.

Delivery of Operations "Best Practise"​ Manual using BPMN techniques, resulting from many 1-2-1's and 15 workshop sessions. With many service hubs working autonomously, the processes had become bespoke to each hub. The "Manual" laid down the new set of rules reached by consensus following a series of specialist workshops. These formal procedural improvements were an essential precursor to the introduction of a single corporate IT solution to replace the plethora of IT applications and manual book-keeping systems.

Great Team Spirit at GE. Contract Extended to include final phase of Ceridian HR/Payroll migration. Real hands-on data interpretation and reconciliation, following the data validation and cleansing phase and implementing a "checks and balances" process to cover 4 months of parallel running of 85 subsidiary payrolls.

Requirements Gathering for Legacy system replacement, Money Laundering, & Impact Analysis on Life Systems changes.

Working on an FSA Compliance issue and a Disaster Recovery review. NFUM prides itself on a reputation second to none - and wants to stay there! As my insurers for many years, I want them there too.

Team manager responsible for 7 staff, inc 2 BA's. Duties: Handled all IT related Pre & Post purchase IT related work for Acquisitions & Mergers team (Acq.budget c£50Mpa), Due Diligence Systems Audits, In-house Data Integrity Monitoring, and numerous Systems Migration Projects.

Several system integration projects and data cleansing issues. Waste Transfer Notes, EA Reporting, Resource Allocation & Logistics, Weight- Based Billing, Financial Reconciliation, debtors ledger analysis & credit control reporting.

Designed and developed integrated Service Contract and Resource Sheduling application, various phases including Billing, EDI, Bacs, Productivity Bonus, Sales Commission, Inventory, blah,blah. Always more to do. After migration to unix platform, moved into Corp. Acquisitions projects, and Data Governance.

Borehamwood & Birmingham

Started as an Analyst Programmer on a bespoke payroll and resource management system, then through the years, PM, IT Operations manager & IT manager. Returning to a Project Management (Development) role following the merger of Midlands and London departments. Great opportunity to develop greenfield, bespoke systems - with an integrated strategy. Developed Viewdata user analysis for Thames TV & Installed Payroll at Scottish TV on some joint ITV ventures plus the usual Financial Systems, Studio Scheduling and OB Production Costing systems as part of an ERP system. Also discovered where Inspector Morse drank his real ale (in Windsor).
