My university years in Leeds (a city with a vibrant music scene) started my journey into being a director. With a brother who's a prominent musician in the British improvised jazz scene, I began making videos for LIMA (Leeds Improvised Music Association) and a growing network of artists. I both direct and edit. I have an innate understanding of complex and challenging music from my experience with LIMA which has informed my editorial skills. My film work has been influenced by a love for abstraction and the work of luminaries such as David Lynch. I try to incorporate humour and the unexpected to create videos that ask to be watched again, a skill I believe is imperative in our disposable culture of infinite content. My most recent projects showcase my ability to create work on completely different genres. I followed making the debut video for PENGSHUI, a grime/punk/metal trio (tipped to be one of the breakthrough acts in the UK) by filming the National Youth Jazz Orchestra (30 players) as they recorded their double album at George Martin's AIR Studios. Locked In Edinburgh is rated one of the finest Escape Room experiences in the world. My role utilised my wide range of skills in an ever changing work environment. In particular, I undertook a wide ranging breakdown of the customer journey, the company's potential and competitors in the market. I was also a key member for improving the game experiences by creating original video and design work in keeping with the themed rooms.
