I work as a diabetes educator and clinical liaison overseeing chronic disease referrals (hypertension, prediabetes and diabetes) to the Chronic Disease team from the SNHD's FQHC. The Southern Nevada Health District received ADA program recognition for the Diabetes Self Management Education and Support (DSMES) program in July 2019. I coordinate and facilitate DSMES classes to small groups in-person and virtual, participate in media opportunities to promote our classes, and assist in reporting outcomes in state subgrant reports. I send weekly diabetes events and educational updates to the Clark County Diabetes Group, a distribution list of more than 275 individuals, organizations, and professionals. I build strong community and clinical partnerships and serve on various boards and committees.

Certification as a Health Education Specialist allows me to continue learning best practices and recertify every 5 years.
