I am a former construction professional, an ex Louis Berger Inc employee now retired and based in China, having lived and worked in many countries. I have been trying to write action and adventure fiction for many years, before the Doomsday Books series enabled me to fulfill a dream.One of the countries of my extended stay abroad was Egypt. I came to appreciate the treasures it houses. Those sites from antiquity had inspired me to research them, with no less a curiosity of “how did they build that?”.Being a fan of Ancient Aliens on the History Channel and the more radical of ideas suggested by the ancient astronaut theorists, I wrapped a story line that some of the really old structures had been the work of a parent race which had predated humankind. The upshot of my imagination is in the first book; The Awakening, with its messages left to humankind in the form of a time capsule. The Hall of Records is set to reveal more about the fate of the human race than the Book of Revelation.Fantasy aside, I blended into the stories some of my experiences in the construction industry and as an enthusiastic amateur footballer.I must confess that I write books to amuse myself, thinking how I can produce a book that I like, that I like the subject and I like the words. If what I have written is enjoyed by others, then so much the better. It has been nice, though, to relive some of the experiences, which I have referred to and would always encourage others to do the same.
