The NuVuX Design Education Fellowship is focused on design education and leadership taught through project based learning and innovation in concept development, prototype design and work processes. Project and studio briefs range from architecture, furniture design, embedded technologies, industrial design, film, art, and fashion. As an acting fellow, I co-manage the All Saints Academy (Winter Haven, FL) Innovation Studio and project operations in the department with another on site NuVuX fellow. Students are introduced to design principles based on the MIT architecture studio model, processes. Current studios are in partnership with regional and national collaborators such as Publix Supermarkets, Sasaki design group, Art Research Enterprises, Platform Art, and so on. Our facilities include a fabrication shop, electronics lab, two studio classrooms, and a digital computer station stocked with 3D printers and a set of large format laser cutters.

The Intuitionists (aka: Project GUT)Graham Foundation Publication Grantee - 2013http://www.grahamfoundation.org/grantees/4992-project-gutIn 2015 I was approached by David van der Leer (Executive Director of Van Alen Institute) to join and work along with he and Florian Idenburg (Partner at SO—IL) on the Graham Foundation grant they received. My Role.- Researched intuition and cognitive sciences in efforts to rationalize individual’s intuitive abilities- Managed interviewee & essayist content in preparation for online publication and project archive- Budgeted reports for the Graham Foundation / external grant balances- Content acquisitions [text, audio transcripts]

Walt Disney World

For a majority of 2017 I participated in an Imagineering Professional Internship with the Walt Disney Company. It was a dream but more special than that because it was a reality, one dedicated to achieving fantasy and spectacle in the built environment. In my role as a Graphic Fabrication designer I accomplished many tasks in my department but also assisted in work under many other departments, giving me a clear idea of the company and structure of the operations. My tasks and role completed consisted of the following- Assisted graphic designers, art producers and creative directors to ensure that graphic packages followed scope and met creative intent throughout the fabrication and installation process. - Wrote and submitted scope to vendors, requested bids and carried out fabrication through installation on site. - Participated in creative meetings to brainstorm ideas and concepts for pre-show stages in attraction queue lines.- Handled signage/way-finding packages with edited illustrator files to include up to day site surveys and accurate depictions of locations and content. - Conducted and coordinated a property wide signage survey throughout the Walt Disney World parks and resort areas. Documentation was recorded through photographs and geo-tagged to a map for user references. - Routinely worked with Adobe Creative Suite and created/edited graphic packages created graphic designers/concept artists. - Participated in Blue Sky brainstorming sessions for upcoming attractions and entertainment venues.- Briefly dabbled in show writing (12 text fields over the course of 1 week) _ assisted with text that was applied to pre-existing signage in an artifact gallery.
