I spent my life always trying to look at the man behind the curtain for the Wizard of Oz. My interest has always been to understand why and how something works, and thus know how outside factors affect it.As an Environmental Test Engineer, I'm always considering how factors do and don't affect the inner workings behind products. I can expect my day to consist of examining the inner workings of hardware or code, troubleshooting or repairing equipment, or analyzing the effects of the environment on a design.I supply aerospace testing solutions for the research and development of new components. My core responsibilities involve designing, planning and performing thermal, vibration and corrosive testing per industry standards to validate customer specification requirements. I indirectly shape product design by supporting engineering teams, analyzing designs, finding defects and mitigating long term program risks. My working knowledge of RVDTs, linear and rotary actuators and electronics give me practical experience performing product analyses, troubleshooting test systems and determining root causes for testing issues.Knowing why something works is one thing. Knowing enough to fix innate problems is the true mark of an engineer. I constantly strive for making life better through continuous improvement activities, by refining equipment operation, standardizing and documenting processes, and providing training to ensure a consistent level of operations.If you need expertise in product testing solutions for commercial or military applications, I have completed over 20 qualification programs for many satisfied customers such as Boeing, Embraer, Parker and Bombardier.
