Teams are located in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Pune (India) providing… Show more Reporting to the Head of Superannuation Systems, a member of the Superannuation IT Leadership team and the BTFG IT Extended Leadership team, with a team of over 40 IT professionals across three major streams of 18 systems in total. The teams consist of permanent BT employees (Team Leaders and Analysts) as well as technical resources from BT’s outsourcing partner TCS located both onshore and offshore. Teams are located in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Pune (India) providing 24x7 Support and IT Operations service to all of the BT Superannuation systems, range from VMS COBOL based systems, to web-based customer facing systems and mobile apps. Such services include, but not limited to, DR, BCP, Users Access Revalidation, Certs renewals, address audit and risk findings, applications monitoring, etc.The key challenge of this role is to drive the efficiency across different teams at different locations. Automation is the key for reducing manual tasks and creating capacity to support additional systems and project involvement.The SELC Project Management methodology is used in all projects and the ITIL Change management framework is used for Service Management through the Remedy system. I was responsible for the support, maintenance and delivery of the Enterprise and Tactical solutions for a range of systems, from green-screen UNIX and AS/400 systems, to .NET Web based systems and Cloud systems. My responsibility also covered budget management, risk management, and implementing effective cost prudency measures. My Opex budget was circa $5m and my project budgets varied between $800K to $3.5m. I also played an active role in defining the IT Strategy and Projects prioritisation.The key challenge of my role was to drive the cost efficiency for the legacy systems, while maintaining the level of service by providing innovative solutions to the business by either modernise or decommission the legacy systems.
